Believe In Dreams - Flyleaf

Today was the description of a snow day. So I did what every snow day person does: I built a snowman. That was fun, experimental, learnt a few things.
It has mohawk hair, and a dick for a nose. lol.

I made tetrazzini today. It's YUMMY! Made me come up with an interesting plan for the winter. I'm going to cook a new recipe everyday, except for the days that I'm travelling, and I'm going to blog about it. It's going to be nice, and an excellent way to waste time.

Mom's bday! I wish I were home. They are going to Cassells. I want to go there! Anyways, I wish and hope she has a wonderful time, because she just is.

Love you ma. You da bomb!

Happy - Leona Lewis

Lately, I've been so unhappy. Yes, I've smiled, and laughed. Maybe it's just hormones. I really want to go to Moganshan, but maybe over the spring. It's too cold to go up a mountain and sit in the house all day playing games and watching stuff, esp for that price. blah*

I haven't spoken to R in days. I wonder what he's been up to? and how his bday went. They wouldn't let me send his gift in the mail. Damn Chinese!!! Anyways, I went for a Mexican Buffet lunch with the bf. And all I have to say is, either Mexican Food really sucks or that cook does. That was my second time at that Mexican place, and I really never ever want to go there again!

Xmas day was fun. Van's potluck was a success, I would say. The fried rice wasn't so great, but then these Mru's have an odd way of making fried rice or even biryani. Or maybe it's because of the rice they use. Any how, I stuck to the roti, chickpeas and chicken manchurian! Those really made my day!!! I made butterscotch cake: it was amazing! Like super amazing. I'm going to make it again. Once I find butter. Lol.

Today I decided to try something new, so I made Moroccan Chicken and Pilaf Rice. I hope it's good. It smells good. I can't wait to break fast to eat. I'm terrible! But all that cooking has gotten me hungry. Gotta study today-for real. No kidding around. Exams are less than 2 weeks away. *sigh! Exams. And should go to the city to see if they still got tickets for the Zee Indian something something. Should be fun to go watch. Just that it's on a school night. And there's also the opening of the new Walmart then. I hope they have good offers!!!

Well, it's close to maghrib. Toodles.

Thunder - Boys Like Girls

My chicken nuggets taste a bit too salty. Hmm... but to the main reason for this post.

Family medicine marks were out yesterday, and guess what?! I so kicked Raj's butt, not so much of a difference, but I did and now the score is tied 1-1. So we are going for dinner and a movie all on him! I like this.

The thing that's gotten me all baffled is how can people not get good marks on this paper?! It was open book, and we had plenty of time. Well I spent half of my life and energy on highlighting for essay questions, which didn't even turn up! *hmph

Oh well. Got my presentation in an hour, Gotta prep for that.

Wish me luck!

It Doesn't Mean A Thing - Alicia Keys

I almost died yesterday. Twice. Who did they think they were?!
Both just turned out of no where, without looking back, without any signal. Thankfully, we weren't hurt, and neither was the bike. *phew
The bf was really bummed about it though. He almost beat up one of those guys. Lol.
He was okay after we put up the Christmas tree. It looks marvelous. So colorful, and we bought glitter glue, and spray paint to give it an extra zing! There's so many ornaments on it, I'm surprised it hasn't fallen over. :D
Yesterday, my house mate curled her hair, and I'm contemplating trying that out to curl my hair. Mind you, she's African and they have all these weird beauty methodologies. But I shall tell you how that goes! ;)

A friend came out of his knee surgery fine, and is currently wrecking havoc throughout the hospital again. Good for him! Hope the recovery goes well without him doing something stupid to stunt it. I'm teaching him how to use funshion. Awesomeness!!!

The day before, when I came back from slightly heavy-duty shopping, something interesting happened. I was waiting for BF to bring the bike around, this chinese dude walking into campus asked me if I needed any help carrying my stuff in. Well I don't know if he had good intentions or bad ones, but being optimistic, I'm just going to say that that was the nicest thing that' ever happened for a long time, especially from a stranger. Even our guys don't have those manners, and those manners are seriously lacking now a days. It's just polite to ask, even if you get shot down.

Day after tomorrow is my presentation. It's long, and hopefully it won't be monotonous. The physical exam on thursday, was Ter-RIBLE! She asked me some question, and threw me off my game. However, I'm going to the hospital on Christmas to check some patients out. Looking forward to that.

I'm also looking forward to more shoe shopping tomorrow. And I'm also looking forward to Mexican Lunch Buffet on Wednesday. Vandana is planning some Christmas potluck thing, I'm going to try to make butterscotch cake for that. If it turns out bad, tough love!

Well, busy bee's out.

I'm No Superman... - Scrubs Theme

It's been a while, and I knew this would happen, but I'm here now... Today is a day to celebrate! It's a day that I am thankful for because someone special was born, 23 years ago...

Few days ago, I went to see Raj. He was supposed to make me dinner. Damn! That's never going to happen again. Smarter to just go out. We watched Tum Mile. The movie is typical, but the music is sweet. And I had a great time, fighting with each over silly things, and him talking through the entire movie. I let go of all that anger. And then tomorrow came!

Time to pay the bills. I know, I'm cheap, but as my bf said: my house mates are cheaper! DAIM* So, since my bf kinda stays with me, i offered to pay a little extra for the electricity. Wasn't that a mistake! They just decided to divide the whole thing into 5 instead, because 20 bucks was a too much for them to pay. And for the meager 40.80 RMB gas bill, they wanted to split that in 5 too, because we apparently all eat in this house - sure, because I cook everyday for just myself, and him for himself! *NOT* *dumb b*tchs* Who would spend 80 RMB on shoes, but would fight for paying just 2 RMB extra. Doesn't make any sort of sense to me! So, just working on letting that go. *argh

Worked by butt off, and got the newsletter ready. It's a bit boring this time. I'm tired of doing this. The response sucks. People read it though, but no one new is submitting anything. I don't know what to do. I should go dig a hole and bury myself in it.

Later today I've got to perform my heart physical exam on my partner, I'm slightly nervous, because I'm not completely sure on how to use the sphygnomanometer, but hopefully i'll get the JVP :) i'll ACE that. however, I feel sorry for the other group, they gotta give a full history, and we didn't even do history taking, just played around with the echocardiogram. :D

Now, I'm super sleepy. The bf went all christmas spirit on me and got a tree. Decorated that. It looks oH-Kay... Got myself a metro card. Yey. It's so close, it's like a blessing. Right - sleepy.

Gnite, happy birthday M,

The Space Between Us - Dave Matthews Band

I f**king hate drunks. It's not even funny. I can tolerate a lot of things in my life - selfish friends, b*tchs, assh*les, backstabbers and all the scum on earth including smokers. But I just hate drunks.

If you choose to drink, keep your alcohol down instead of regurgitating it all over the place. If you choose to drink, learn to get yourself back home in one piece. If you choose to drink, control your emotions. If you choose to drink, know your limits.

Because if you can't, then don't drink! It degrades you to a very sad level of life. Shows you in the most negative light there is. At least in my eyes. A grown person choosing to be a burden on the ones around them on purpose...

*argh. This anger has been building up a while now, with this it's getting very close to boiling over.

Anyways, pissed off but,

K

A Little Too Not Over You - David Archuleta

Just another day? Maybe. Boring? Slightly.
The fun part: EXAM!!! :D (Yes, I think I'm going crazy too)
It was easy, and tough. Part of what we expected came and the other half a surprise. I just wanted to laugh, but with the bet; I didn't think so.
Sat my ass down, checked, double checked, and smiled. Helped as many people as I could. It was the most satisfactory paper so far. But now, what if we get equal marks?! :| The funny thing about exams here is like the football field inversed. Inside the exam room, all are bff's, psst-ing and oi-ing to their paper's content, but once the exam is over, people step out of the exam room and straight into their cliques, until the cycle repeats again.
Betting is fun, especially for education. Initiative to study your butt off. Makes you confident. Makes exams fun. But now I'm tired. Sleepy. Hungry. BORED!

I ordered my bff's b'day gift today. I hope he likes it, I sure do. And that saleswoman is just awesome, she's sending me a smaller replica freeeeeeeeeeeee. Hehehehehe. I wonder if it's still raining. The bf and I are going out to dinner-Thai food. YEY!!! :D Rain. Hope it doesn't continue through the weekend. I wanna go buy boots. *sigh. I hate weekends. Too much work to do. Chinese homework. Lab exam to prep for. Chinese presentation. Thankfully, no more exams till Jan. Rain, rain please go away. Rain over the holidays. lol!

Recently, I've been in touch with a friend from the past. My lil secret for now. Or forever. Or not! *bleagh! It's good to catch up, on life, love, troubles, education, secrets, blah blah. Did I miss 'person'? Hmmm.. I don't really know. Don't think so. But in small incy wincy ways, I guess I did. Damn it, gotta work on the newsletter. Shoot! Totally forgot.

Jetting out for dinner.

Footprints In The Sand - Leona Lewis

My life is music. No that's not true. My life is family, friends and music.

My birthday is a time to reminisce and to look forward. Be thankful for the people in your life, the love they have for you, and the faith they have in you, the time they have invested to be with you, and the memories of them you have in you.

My old friends are golden and no amount of new friends will ever replace them in my life and heart. They know who I am. And every year, that is the one time that I miss them most, they shaped my life - gave it meaning, gave it colour, gave it music. M for your insanity, quick guidance and the intro to music. R for being as dysfunctional as me, the big heart and all those fights. Konika for being understanding and always knowing what to say. Zaynab for always getting grounded and leaving me stranded (kidding!), for being so pessimistic one instant and optimistic the next. Duffy for your strange addictions, and loner-ness. Tas & Jas for making the effort to keep in touch all these years-bless you! Deena for being stronger than me when it came to family, and teaching me just that. Allan for just having a lot in common with me, and being a complete stranger in school. Diya for having equally crazed hair, and the most impeccable paintbrush-I admire you. Raj for sitting on me when I needed it, and being whiny for chocolate oreo crush!!! :D And all the others for their small footprints all over my life, including my pasts, present and futures, for loving me, bearing with my insanity, holding me close yet setting me free (A,G,S,I&A).

My family, so close-knit, but really not. Dysfunctional as ever, made me the dysfunctional being I am today, but with the strength to follow my dreams, and to face the harsh reality of life head on. Made me confused, made me perfect. My mother, the pusher and shover...got me to where I am now, a med student with a love for all creative things. My brother, the competitor: sharp mind, quick tongue! My father, for all the love, the endless pockets and gentle guidance.

Music is the only thing that keeps me going when I am far away from them, and I miss them so much, and I wish they could be with me every step of the way. All of them. But I also wish to be by myself; be crazed enough to take it down on my own. Each song is for you, and from you. At times distance is the only thing that hurts the most, not being able to be there physically for you when you need me.

Anyways, exam tomorrow. And I'm really considering going into that field - Family Medicine. But for the short-term, I've got a bet with a friend on who's going to score higher, tough to tell with the exam being open-book and all, but I sure hope I'm going to kick his ass. Then it's a free meal for moi! I think I'm ready, but not going to get ahead of myself.

This is it for now. Let's go kick ass.
Miss you.
With love, always,
K
